Description 2: James Hiern, Destitute Asylum, Adelaide: Aboriginal names and words (West Coast).

Description 3: From Mr Hiern's letter it appears the Engineer-in-Chief, Graham Stewart had written a book that related at least in part to Aboriginal words. Mr Stewart had responsibility for deep-well boring etc. in the interior which may be the connection.

Description 4: No trace of this book can now be found in the major libraries. For biographical details of Mr Hiern and his knowledge of Aboriginal vocabulary see 'The Advertiser, 3/2/1914, p.10.
