This series contains indexes to the correspondence files of the Colonial Surgeon's Office and successor agencies (GRG 78/1).

Volume 1 is arranged alphabetically by the author of the correspondence or the hospital that is the subject of the correspondence. information recorded includes author, hospital, subject, docket reference.

Volumes 2 - 4 are arranged in two sections, one which is alphabetical by author with columns recording author, date, docket reference, hospital and subject, and the other section is arranged in tabs by the hospital to which the correspondence relates with columns recording author, date, docket reference, and subject.

Volume 5 is arranged in tabs by the hospital to which the correspondence relates. information recorded includes author, date, docket reference, and subject.

The whereabouts of the indexes for the years 1909-1936, and 1947 are unknown.
