Description
This series comprises one volume, titled 'Record of applications for, and of licences issued to keep lying-in homes' for the period 1900 to 1910. The volume records addresses from metropolitan, suburban and rural areas of South Australia.
The register is arranged by application number and give dates, name of applicant, address of the premises, whether or not the licence was granted and licence number. The remarks field sometimes indicates whether a licence was renewed, and cites a vide [see also] file reference number for further information.
In some cases, a licence appears to have been granted for the care of one person only (names included), the licence therefater was surrendered.
As at 23/05/2013 the location of other volumes from this sequence is unknown.
