Description
Series comprises index cards controlling files relating to state wards, foster children and young offenders.
Information includes age and date of birth of child, parents' names and addresses, court of committal, date admitted, reason for admission, dates of placements, where placed and remarks. 'Admission' here means date of admission to the Industrial School, Reformatory etc. 'Placements' refers to foster home placements.
Series also includes cards for subject categories such as 'releases', 'boys with foster parents' and 'handicapped' which are arranged alphabetically by name within the categories shown on the Consignment List.
The cards are arranged in alphabetical order up to June 1982. For the years 1982/83 to 1990/91 cards are arranged alphabetically within years.
