About this agency
Description
The South Australian Centre for Trauma and Injury Recovery (SACTIR), trading as TRACsa (Trauma Recovery and Accident Centre of SA) was established on 1 December 2005 as a centre of excellence building the knowledge base and improving the quality of service provision for people injured on the road or at work.
TRACsa is governed by an independent Board appointed by the Treasurer and initially funded by the Motor Accident Commission. TRACsa works closely with the Motor Accident Commission and WorkCover SA with a focus on recovery after road trauma. A particular priority is improving health and social outcomes for people that suffer from soft tissue or 'non-demonstrable' injuries.
From 1 December 2008 TRACsa ceased to exist as an independent entity. The work undertaken by TRACsa is now integrated into the operations and programs of the Motor Accident Commission.
