Description
This series contains a register of admissions to the Lying-in Home (i.e. maternity home) which was operated by the Destitute Asylum for destitute expectant mothers.
The register records the name of the expectant mother, case book number, date of confinement, name and gender of child, name, address and occupation of putative father and his ability to pay maintenance, date of discharge, mother and child's whereabouts, dates of visits or inquiries, and remarks.
Includes an alphabetical index.
