Description
This series comprises 24 volumes of registers of letters received by the Police Commissioner's Office, from 1843 to 1949.
These registers control the annual single number files archived as GRG5/2. From February 1949, a new 'duplex numeric' filing system was implemented and the use of these registers ceased. The last file created using these registers is 375/1949.
Volume for 1857-1861 includes list of letters sent.
