Description
The inaugural meeting of the Aborigines' Protection Board was held on 27th February 1940.
These minutes give information relating to financial assistance to individuals, confinements to Reserves, expulsions from Reserves, maintenance of children, exemptions from the Aborigines Act, reports on the condition of missions and other business of the Board. Relevant Aborigines Department file numbers are given.

Access to the original volumes is by special arrangement only. For ordinary access purposes order GRS11094.
MISSING VOLUMES:
Volumes for December 1945 - August 1954 and July 1957 - July 1960 were missing at the time of transfer to archival custody in 1975.
