Description
The Central Western Region of the Department for Community Welfare extended west of the Adelaide local government area, including part of Enfield to Port Adelaide and Kangaroo Island (1). There were three residential locations.
This series contains two admission books from the Western Region Admission Unit, a short term residential unit for minors in the care of the Department.
Details include admission number, date admitted, name, age, date of birth, name of Community Welfare Worker/District Office, order, where from (Courts, SAYRAC, streets, police, parent etc), date discharged, where to (parent, other institution, flat, absconded etc.), Ad. No and Dis. No. (Commonwealth Department of Social Security admission number and discharge number?).
There is an overlap between the volumes as admission numbers 854 to 881 were entered in both volumes.
