Patient information - Adelaide Maternity Home (GRS/13690)

This series consists of a volume used by the Adelaide Maternity Home to record information about unmarried women seeking to enter the home for the birth of their child.

It contains pre-printed pages titled 'Private and Confidential Information' and details recorded include date, from, name, age, name and address of living relatives, place of birth, details of any previous admission to prison or other social homes, and name and address of father of child. Not all information is recorded for each entry. Some entries include remarks under the heading 'Further Particulars' which may include date of admission to the Maternity Home, date of baby's birth and notes regarding the woman's situation after leaving the home.

The entries contain similar information to GRS 13689, but this volume appears to have been used to record personal information about women seeking entry prior to their admission to the Adelaide Maternity Home.

There is a gap in the volume for the period July 1894 to May 1898. See GRS 13689 for this period. From 1898, entries include a consecutive register number that corresponds to the number allocated in GRS 13689.
