Admission register - Northfield Mental Hospital School, later Hillcrest Hospital School (GRS/13925)

This series comprises the admission register for Northfield Mental Hospital School, later Hillcrest Hospital School, from 1963 to February 1970. The admissions to the school for the period February - November 1970 have been recorded in a new volume, which continued to be used for the admissions of the new "Strathmont Special School" from 1971 upon the closure of Hillcrest Hospital School. This volume has been archived as Volume 1 of GRS 13926/1/P.

The series comprises one oversized volume which lists the date of admission, gender, register number, the name of student, date of birth, name of parent or guardian, occupation, residence, last school attended, gender, quarterly attendance, date of leaving, and remarks, which indicate if the student was discharged from Hospital, re-entered, left school etc.

The front of the volumes contain a Register of Teachers in Charge page, which lists the signature, date taking charge, date of leaving, school transferred from, and remarks.

There are also Annual Return pages at the front of the volumes which lists the annual number of students who attended, the number of days the school was open and the total number of attendances listed by quarter.

The registers are arranged in chronological order by the date of admission.
