Description
This series consists of a volume relating to the discharge of voluntary boarders that appears to have been used for statistical purposes.
Voluntary boarders were patients who had applied for admission of their own free will, and who had not been deemed a "mental defective" within the meaning of the Act. Persons seeking voluntary admission could be declined, or, if admitted, they could later be declared mentally defective if their condition deteriorated. See Section 137 of the Mental Defectives Act, 1935 for further details.
The volume records registration number, name of patient, male or female, date of discharge, and total number of voluntary patients in the institution as at the end of the year.
See GRS 13191 for admission details for these patients.
Arranged chronologically.
