Daily journal of changes - Enfield Receiving House, later Enfield Hospital (GRS/14387)

This series comprises 11 volumes recording daily movements of patients at Enfield Receiving House.

Volumes from 1938 to 1953 contain pages headed 'Daily Journal of Changes', with columns for the date; number of patients; admissions and returns from trial leave; discharges and deaths; appearance before a Justice or examination by Superintendent; transfers to Mental Hospital; granted trial leave; extensions of trial leave, and discharges from "On Trial".

From 1954, the volumes change format slightly. Volumes are titled 'Journals' and have a page per day. Each page is divided into three sections: admissions, returns from trial leave, etc; trial leaves, discharges, deaths and transfers; extensions of trial leave and discharges from On Trial leave.

For both types of volumes, the admission number and name is given for the patients entering or leaving the institution each day.

There are gaps for the period November to December 1953 and 1962.
