Description
This series comprises a volume that records patients admitted to the Northfield Consumptive Home, later the Morris Hospital.
Information recorded for each patient varies slightly but may include date of admission, admission number, name, address, next of kin, phone number, age, religion, place of birth, length of residence in South Australia, occupation, doctor recommending treatment, duration of illness, where transferred from if previously hospitalised elsewhere, and date of discharge or death.
There is an alphabetical index at the front of the volume.
Patient admission numbers are preceded by the letter 'B' for cancer patients and the letter 'C' for tuberculosis patients. From overlaps in the admission numbers, it appears that these patients were admitted separately and the information in this volume compiled from the two sets of admission registers, perhaps for ease of reference. The location of further volumes in this series or the original admission registers is not known (as at October 2012).
See GRG78/61 for records of patients of the Hospital's predecessor, the Consumptive Home at the Adelaide Hospital.
For registers of patients with tuberculosis treated at other facilities, see GRG78/60, GRS 8850, and GRG78/27.
Arranged chronologically.
