Description
This series consists of a volume registering notices relating to patients of Enfield Receiving House sent to the Inspector-General of Hospitals and the Public Trustee.
Under the Mental Defectives Act, 1935, the superintendent of a mental institution was required, within twenty-four hours of the occurance, to transmit a notice in writing to the Inspector-General of Hospitals of the reception, discharge, removal, death, escape or recapture of any patient and to the Public Trustee of the reception, discharge or death of any patient.
The volume records patient's admission number and name, nature and date of movement, date notice forwarded, and remarks.
Some of the entries in this volume also appear in GRS 15236, which records notices that required the sanction of the Inspector-General of Hospitals under various sections of the Act, e.g. granting of trial leave, admission of voluntary boarders.
Arranged chronologically.
