Description
This series contains registers of discharges from Hillcrest Hospital between 1972 and 1980. The registers appear to have been kept for statistical purposes.
It records: date, number and name, and has columns indicating whether the patient was discharged, absconded, transferred out or died. The columns are divided into male and female and further divided into three categories: 'C', 'I/A' or 'CL', although it is not clear from the register what these mean. 'C' possibly means 'certified', 'I/A' possibly means 'informal admission' and 'CL' could refer to patients held under the Criminal Law Consolidation Act. The number recorded is a discharge number and is arranged sequentially. It does not correlate to the patient's admission number.
The end of the volumes includes a monthly tally of discharges, transfers and deaths.
Consignments one and two are for the Receiving Wards. They appear to be the only records relating to patients' discharges, as information about patients' discharges from the Receiving Wards is not recorded in the register of patients (GRS 14332) or the statistical register (GRS 14333).
Consignment three relates to discharges from other wards.
Arranged chronologically.
