Admission registers - Point Pearce Aboriginal School (GRS/16966)

This series contains the admission registers of Point Pearce Aboriginal School from 1938 to 1996. The school began in 1918 and closed in 2017, but the whereabouts of the registers prior to 1938 is unknown (they were not transferred as at December 2018). Use of hardcopy registers likely ceased in 1996 with the introduction of the Education Department School Administration System [EDSAS].

The information recorded varies over time and may include: register number, name of student, date of admission, date of birth, gender, name of parent or guardian, parent's occupation, residential address, religion, last school attended (name and when left), grade on admission, attendance for each term, date of leaving, transfers to other schools, compulsory standard details, quarterly attendance and reason for leaving school.

The front of the register contains a Teacher's Register page, which details the date of taking charge, date of leaving, school transferred from, as well as school transferred to.

There is also an Annual Return page at the front of the register, listing the annual number of students who attended, the number of days the school was open, and the total number of attendances.
