DESCRIPTION: Series consists of inwards (original) and outwards (copies) correspondence relating to non-government children's homes. The Committee has gone through several name changes - (1) Residential Child Care Advisory Committee, c.1978 (2) Residential Child Care Support and Advisory Committee, c.1982 (3) Substitute Care Advisory Committee, c.1986. Also includes some minutes and agendas of Committee meetings, submissions to the Department from private groups concerning child care issues, financial statements from licensed children's homes, internal memoranda, policy statements and discussion papers.
