Description

This series consists of two volumes created by Marjorie Angas, Department of Aboriginal Affairs Welfare Officer, Special Project relating to Huntington's Chorea. Part of the project was constructing genealogies to identify and assist Aboriginal people affected by Huntington's Disease, a genetic disorder which entered the Aboriginal community after a white man suffering from the disease married an Aboriginal woman in the late 19th century.

These volumes record notes compiled by Marjorie Angas from departmental records about a number of individuals and their family connections.

Volume 1 contains entries for the surnames A to C. Summary details may include surname, first name, date of birth, name of father, name of mother, name of spouse, date of marriage and date of death. The volume is in a reused bolt-bound cover labelled 'Lands 1942'.

Volume 2 contains only two entries. Summary details may include, name, date of birth, place of birth, date of marriage, date of death, name of spouse, name of children, address and place of employment.

Series was transferred via the South Australian Museum, which was bequeathed the records on the death of Marjorie Angas who had acquired some historical records of the department in the course of her career and research.

Arranged alphabetically.
