Description
This series contains registers of children born in the Destitute Asylum until 1918. Between 1917 - 1918 the registers record children born in both the Destitute Asylum on North Terrace and the Magill Home, and after 30 June 1918 when the Lying-in Department at North Terrace closed, the registers record children born in the Magill Home.
Information recorded includes name of child, date of birth, mother's name, religion, nationality; putative father's name, occupation and place of residence; mother and infant's dates of discharge and their proposed whereabouts.
