Description
These files relate to Aboriginal clients who were deceased as at c.1971.
Most of these files were raised by the Aborigines' Department, later the Aboriginal Affairs Department, and were given reference numbers based on the annual single number system. When they were controlled by the Department of Community Welfare, the files were re-arranged alphabetically.
Files have been indexed in the State Records' Aboriginal Name Index. Actual files, however, are only available from the Adoption and Family Information Service, Family and Youth Services Department.
