Permanent. These records have been deemed permanent in accordance with a disposal determination made for all GRGs by the Manager [Director] of State Records and approved by the State Records Council on 9 November 1999.
Description
This series consists of cards giving name, file number, name of ship, dates of departure and arrival, age, nationality, religion, names and ages of wife and children, name and address of employer and details of loan . Not all sections are completed for each card. A small number of cards relate to women migrants.
Also available as a Special List to GRG7/18 in the Research Centre.
Partially indexes both GRG7/9 and GRG7/23. Many of the cards relating to transferred Victorian migrants have no numbers. Cards with a single file number index GRG 7/9. Those with both a file number and a year (ie.158/1922) refer to files in GRG 7/23. For further cards relating to interstate migrants see GRG7/17.
