Description
This series contains records of Home for Incurables residents' medication, 'medical comforts', and medical attendance.
Information includes medication prescribed, treatments recommended (including the use of ointments, lotions etc.), dietary requirements, and recommendations for residents to leave the Home, including temporary leave. 'Medical comforts' generally include allowances of alcohol, cocoa, extra meat and extra milk.
Dental treatments are mentioned, but the dentists do not appear to have entered notes directly to the books.
There are also some comments about residents' behaviour and residents' complaints, including some personal opinions about residents from the medical officers.
The first entry is from 22 April 1887 and the last entry is from 3 March 1918 and the whereabouts of earlier and later records is unknown as at June 2021.
