Description
This series contains patient admission cards for the Home for Incurables, later Julia Farr Centre.
The hand-written cards were completed as part of the admission process for patients entering the Home for Incurables, later the Julia Farr Centre. They contain personal details such as name, date of birth, client number and medical history.
Cards continued to be used after the patient was admitted for clinical notes and observations, including: diagnoses, medications prescribed, and general comments on the patient's physical and mental state.
Some cards were recorded many years after the patient was admitted and note the name and admission number but no further details. Please note the unit date ranges reflect the admission and discharge dates of the patients, not necessarily the dates of the cards.
It appears that not all patients are included in this set of cards. Most of the cards for 19th century patients were created at a much later date, seemingly in response to enquiries about them many years after they had been a patient.
Arranged alphabetically by surname.
