Description
The South Australian Land Commission [SALC] was established under the Land Commission Act 1973 to acquire land for urban expansion or development, and for the establishment of new urban areas. This function was continued by its successor, the South Australian Urban Land Trust (SAULT), established in 1981.
This series comprises allotment dockets which record the sale of allotments in newly created subdivisions by the South Australian Land Commission. The files include certificates of title, contracts and memoranda of agreement, plans and Crown Solicitor's receipts.
The file covers record: file number, local government area, Hundred, section number, Certificate of Title number, street, suburb and name of purchaser.
The files are arranged by a three-tiered system representing local government area, subdivision number and lot number. The subdivision numbers are duplicated across local government areas. For example, file 10-7004-700 represents: 10 - local government area Marion, 7004 - Karrara subdivision within Marion, 700 - lot number.
Arranged numerically.
